  • Feature about me in Báo Người Việt: “Jason Nguyễn, ‘bậc thầy remix’ đàn bầu, muốn truyền ‘hơi nhạc’ cho thế hệ sau.”
  • A paragraph about my performance at the Texas Tech University conference on the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War: “Hội Thảo ‘1975: The End Of The Vietnam War’: Ngoảnh Lại Quá Khứ, Hướng Đến Tương Lai.” (April 2025)
    • Translation: “In a final presentation of the conference titled ‘Nói + Nối: Speaking, Listening, Connecting, and Healing Fifty Years after War,’ presenter Jason Nguyen opened and ended by playing đàn bầu, letting the audience listen to folk songs from all three regions of Vietnam. From the Northern ‘sa mạc’ style, to Central folk songs and Southern Lý tunes, both Vietnamese and American audiences were excited about the music. That could also be a meaningful message of the conference: 50 years after the end of the war, sometimes the folk songs of the three regions can connect Vietnamese people all over the world, overcoming all barriers and differences…”

    • Translation: “It was clearly not by chance that Jason Nguyen opened the seminar on intergenerational empathy between Vietnamese people by playing the đàn bầu, with folk songs from three regions that all Vietnamese people are familiar with. Music is an art, an effective bridge between people without the need for language. 50 years after the war, perhaps Vietnamese people – whether at home or abroad, old or young, directly involved in the war or not – all want to move towards empathy. To do this, Vietnamese people need to learn to listen and understand the circumstances of others, thereby developing true compassion. This message of building a bridge through empathy is not only for Vietnamese people, but also the dream of billions of people living on this planet who have not had a single day free of hatred or gunfire.”
